Epica
Year 22
The Epica awards are now in their 22th year.
Their aim is to encourage the highest standards of creativity in European advertising and to help agencies, film production companies and photographers to develop their reputations across the continent.
The awards are judged by the European advertising
trade press; 34 magazines from 27 countries will be represented on the jury this year.
Epica winners receive widespread media coverage throughout Europe and a selection of the best entries is published each year in the Epica Book, a unique record of Europe’s most outstanding creative work.

Winners and Finalists
Epica entries are judged on the basis of 2 criteria only: the originality of the creative idea and the quality of its execution.
Four Epica d’Or (grand prix) will be awarded to the best overall film, press, outdoor and interactive entries.
The highest scoring entries in each category are the category winners (gold) - on condition that the work achieves a score that qualifies it as a winner. Other entries that do not win but achieve this score are finalists (silver & bronze). When no entry meets the standard there are no winners or finalists in the category.
Winners receive Epica pyramids and certificates. Finalists receive certificates. All winners and finalists are published in the Epica Book together with a selection of other short-listed entries.
New Categories & Turkcell Mobile Award
In 2008, for the first time, Epica has introduced a category for Radio Advertising and one for Promotions & Incentives. The popular Media Innovation category has also been split in two (for traditional and alternative media).
2008 also marks the introduction of the Turkcell Mobile Award for the best use of advertising using mobile phones, regardless of category.
Results
Complete results of the 2008 awards will be announced on the Epica website during the last week of November, 2008.
